Virtual Hospice Clinical Team

Lisa Streeter is passionate about reducing disparities in access to palliative care information and resources. As a member of the Canadian Virtual Hospice health care team, Lisa develops, reviews and updates clinical health information posted on www.virtualhospice.ca. She also answers questions submitted to Ask a Professional and monitors postings on Discussions.

Lisa graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing degree in 1997 and has devoted the majority of her career to oncology and palliative care. In 2006, Lisa joined the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program and the Canadian Virtual Hospice as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. 

Lisa is currently working towards a Master of Nursing Degree through the Advanced Practice Leadership program with the University of Victoria, School of Nursing. Her thesis research will explore the opportunities of web-based communication as a means to:

  • provide family caregivers with credible information and practical resources to assist them in accessing services
  • enhance family-centered care through improved access to evidence-based research
  • improve access to palliative care specialists in communities where access is limited.
